Dunn returned to LSU for his fifth season with strong performances on floor and balance beam in Baton Rouge on Friday.
She completed the routine without falling, finishing third on floor with a score of 9.875 and fourth on beam (9.825).
No. 2 LSU defeated Iowa State 197.300 to 194.100 on the night it unveiled its national championship flag in front of 12,324 fans, the most ever for a season opener.
Skens, who finished his National League Rookie of the Year season with the Pirates, appeared on the SEC Network broadcast while Dunn was completing his beam routine.
Olympian Aleah Finnegan, who will be representing the Philippines in international competitions, won for LSU with an overall score of 39.725.
Dunn, a New Jersey native, celebrated his win by posting the score on his Instagram Stories with the caption, “This is Tiger's Dub.”
