President-elect Donald Trump called for Judge Juan Merchan to be sentenced on January 10th.thbe disqualified. President Trump called Marchan “the most divisive judge in New York state history.”

On Friday, Marchan announced the president-elect's sentencing on 34 felony convictions from a New York jury in May 2024 related to a $130,000 payment he made to adult film actress Stormy Daniel in 2016. announced that it would continue.
President Trump denied the allegations and categorically declared her story false.
Trump's lawyers argue that the case should be thrown out entirely because of his status as president-elect.
