Howard Eskin denies he grabbed female colleague before WIP exit

Howard Eskin is no longer silent.

The former WIP radio presenter has denied allegations that he “forcibly grabbed” a female colleague during an argument that led to his sudden exit in December.

of The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Friday. Eskin allegedly grabbed a woman, an employee of Audacy, the station's parent company, during an argument that escalated Dec. 9 after a remote broadcast at Chickie's & Pete's Sports Bar in South Philadelphia.

“While I did not wish to comment on my resignation from WIP, I am forced to defend myself due to a vicious smear campaign being waged against me by a small group of employees at the Bureau. It’s gone.” Eskin posted on Saturday to X. “There was no 'physical altercation' between me and the female staff member at the station. I did not 'forcibly grab' anyone.”

Eskin continued that after the broadcast ended, a woman “interrupted” him during an “important conversation” with Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham and “became irritated with the interruption and raised her voice.”

“She stormed off and left, so I ran after her and tapped her on the arm to get her attention and apologized and explained why I was upset,” Eskin said. wrote. “I didn't catch her. I apologized three times. She didn't accept my apology or listen to me.

“The way things have built up since then has been disappointing to say the least. I'm commenting because in all my years of public life, I've never laid a hand on anyone. cannot tolerate these lies. As they say, don't believe everything you read in the newspaper or on social media.”

The Inquirer reported that the woman interrupted the conversation to tell Graham there was a group of autograph-seeking fans waiting for him.

Over the summer, Eskin was banned from Citizens Bank Park, home of the Phillies, after being accused by an Aramark employee of giving his girlfriend an “unwelcome kiss” before a game, but he never appeared in public. Even after he apologized, he continued to appear on WIP Radio.

Eskin hosted a Saturday morning show on the station and served as a sideline reporter for Eagles broadcasts.

O'Shea announced before Christmas that the network had “parted ways” with him and Devan Kaney was on the sideline for the Eagles' Dec. 29 game against the Cowboys.
