Costco cold remedy recalled due to possible ‘contamination’

Costco-branded cold and flu medicine has been removed from shelves “due to possible contamination.”

The Kirkland Signature Severe Cold and Flu Plus Congestion recall includes certain lot codes P140082 that were sold at select stores in the Midwest and Southeast, according to a notice shared on the retail giant's website. Item number #1729556 is included.

“Out of an abundance of caution, LNK has initiated a recall for erroneous releases and shipments of certain lot codes that were rejected due to possible adulteration,” the statement reads.

The affected over-the-counter drugs were purchased by customers between October 30, 2024 and November 30, 2024.

Consumers are being asked not to use any remaining products with lot codes and return them to Costco for a full refund.
