California police are investigating two videos that appear to show a driver swerving his car into a large group of cyclists and then attacking him in a parking lot.
KCAL-TV reported A collision between a driver and a cyclist was recorded on W. Olympic Boulevard in Mid-Wilshire, but the date of the altercation is unknown. The first video shows a driver in a white Mercedes-Benz driving recklessly through a crowd of bicycle riders, who appear to be teenagers.
“It gives me chills because it's not acceptable. … I don't feel the frustration of having to go to that extreme.”
A second video shows a group of young bike riders overtaking a car in a parking lot and attacking a man while destroying the car. In the end, the man was able to escape from them.
Mid-Wilshire residents told KCAL they witnessed a large group of cyclists taking over the road on Saturday.
Rosalina Hernandez owns a business in the area and says her customers ride at least once a year because they like to see people riding their bikes.
“I was very happy. The customers outside were cheering and honking their horns,” Hernandez said.
She was upset when she saw the video.
“Watching the video gives me chills because it's unacceptable,” she said. “Especially as a parent. I don't get frustrated with having to go to that extreme.”
Los Angeles Police Department said officers are investigating but have not identified a suspect.
“We are aware of the video and detectives are investigating exactly what happened.” said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Rosario Cervantes. “There shouldn't be that many bikes on the road blocking traffic, so it's not safe, but we don't know exactly what happened.”

The altercation is just the latest in a series of bike and vehicle hijackings that sometimes escalate into violence and other criminal activity. In one case in September, dozens of young men on bicycles swarmed a 7-Eleven convenience store and stole whatever goods they could get away with.
