The Israeli government on Thursday sent a message of hope and support to the people of Los Angeles battling the deadly wildfires that have destroyed entire parts of the city.
Wildfires broke out in the Pacific Palisades and Pasadena on Tuesday. Much of the Palisades was destroyed within 24 hours. The fire then spread to other parts of the city, forcing thousands of people to evacuate.
“Everyone in Israel… is deeply moved and shaken by the shocking scenes of wildfires in Los Angeles,” Israeli government spokesman David Mensah said.
In an interview with Breitbart News, Mensah was asked what Israel and the Israeli people could share with the people of Los Angeles, given Israel's recent and ongoing recovery from tragic and devastating events. He shared his thoughts “on resilience and rebuilding.”
Quoting Plato, who is credited with coining the maxim “necessity is the mother of invention,” Mensah said, “These are the words of architecture that will move this country forward…We are determined to move forward here.” Ta.
On behalf of Israel, he assured Angelenos that “we can take advantage of the close relationship between Israel and the United States. And there is no other country closer than this.”
He added, “I am confident…by the grace of God, you will survive this time and see a brighter day.”
