LA Mayor Bass stonewalls reporter for 90 seconds at airport

Video taken on the airport jetway shows Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass repeatedly ignoring questions from reporters about her response to the wildfires that swept through the region this week.

Wednesday, Sky News reporter David Blevins Bass video released He fielded questions about his response to the fires, his travels to Africa during the crisis and comments from critics who say he mishandled the disaster.

“Do you owe the citizens an apology for being absent while your house was on fire? Do you regret cutting millions of dollars from the fire department's budget, Mayor?” Blevins asks her in the video I heard it.

The bus doesn't say anything, just stares blankly ahead.

“You have nothing to say today? You have nothing to say to the people today,” Blevins confronts her.

The bus is unresponsive again.

“Elon Musk says you're totally incompetent,” Blevins told Bass, saying the billionaire ally of President-elect Trump is blaming her and other California Democrats for the fires. he said, referring to his social media posts.

“Have you considered your position? Madam Mayor, do you have nothing to say to the citizens who are dealing with this disaster today?” Blevins asks Bass, but Bass continues to ignore him. “You haven't made any apologies to them? Do you think you should have visited Ghana while this was happening in your home country?”

Representatives from the mayor's office did not respond to requests for comment.

At a subsequent news conference Wednesday, Bass told reporters he was in “constant communication” with fire officials and vowed to rebuild the area “stronger than ever.”

Flames continue to engulf the Los Angeles area, burning thousands of buildings and killing five people.
