Yankees’ willingness to deal Marcus Stroman could help get infielder

The Yankees are still trying to trade Marcus Stroman and are willing to pay him his $18 million annual salary.

If the Yankees can save money there, they could spend more on infielders, but don't count on Alex Bregman or Nolan Arenado.

Although there have been reports of trade talks involving Luis Arraez of the Padres, there is not thought to be much traction.

As The Post's Mark Sanchez reported, one possibility is Jorge Polanco, who played eight games in Minnesota last season before playing in Seattle.

Without the Stroman deal, there would still be money to buy infielders, and the Rockies' Brendan Rodgers and Paul DeJong, who finished last season with the Royals, are among the decent options being considered. .

For now, former star DJ LeMahieu will be given a chance to earn a starting spot while he recovers.
