Breitbart News senior editor Joel Pollack said Thursday on Fox News Channel's “The Ingraham Angle” that the government was “totally inactive” during the Pacific Palisades wildfires. During this time, residents said they had to help each other.
Host Laura Ingraham said, “Joel, now liberals are going to say this is just a natural disaster, this is climate change, and they're going to bring up things like water issues and budget cuts. “It's just that it's not the time and place.'' Now, 24 hours after being evacuated, what do you say?
“Even if we believe that climate change is causing an increase in wildfires, we need to prepare for more wildfires, and our state government is not doing that,” Pollack said. It's clear that our governor had no emergency evacuation plan in place because the mayor was out of the country. There's no clue. Residents had to help each other, but it's a miracle that everyone made it out alive and uninjured, at least in Pacific Palisades. I have been reporting from there for days, and the scale of the devastation is unimaginable.”
Furthermore, he added: “I was reminded again and again how amazing it was that people survived because they helped each other. People had to step up and take leadership if they could. The reason I believe the Palisades will rebuild better than before is because of its character, the spirit of the Palisades. Our government was completely powerless.”
