Eagles’ Jalen Hurts says he doesn’t remember concussion sideline incident, amid bad year for brain injuries

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has cleared concussion protocol.

His first game back from his concussion will be Sunday's wild-card playoff game against the Green Bay Packers.

Hurts told reporters Friday that he didn't remember what happened immediately after suffering the concussion.

When asked, “What happened at that moment?'' Hertz replied, “It was so long ago that I don't remember much.'' He was trying to get back on the field after suffering a concussion. The incident occurred during the first half of a Week 16 game against the Washington Commanders.

Harts said he had never recovered from a concussion and opened up about how the experience disrupted his normal daily life.

“When you get out of a routine, you go through a routine every day. And it's hard to get out of it. Obviously, I'm dealing with a lot of different symptoms, and it's not fun either.” Mr. Harts said.

Hurts credits his faith with getting him through this experience.

“I have faith, everything is going well,” Hurts said.

Hurts is the latest quarterback to suffer a brain injury during a horrific football season due to this issue.

Tagovailoa previously suffered multiple concussions in just a few weeks of the 2022 season. Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered a concussion after taking a foul from Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al Shaaia during a game in early December. Al Shair was suspended for three games and was heavily criticized by the public and NFL executives, and the hit ended Lawrence's season.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave suffered a concussion after being hit by Panthers safety Xavier Woods in Week 9 and had to be carted off the field. One week later, Falcons linebacker J.D. Bertrand I was attacked once in the 10th week.

Alabama A&M University football player Medrick Barnett Jr. died in late November after suffering a severe head injury during a game.
