In an interview with “CBS Evening News” conducted Thursday and published Friday, LAFD Commissioner Christine Crowley said diversity efforts have hurt the department's ability to respond to emergencies like recent fires. He denied that he was doing so and said: It's about making sure we can take care of the communities we're sworn to care for, and that's our ability to respond to emergencies. ”
Crowley said: “My top three priorities from day one [have] With this in mind, I would like to clearly state the following: Our top priority from day one is to ensure LAFD has the capacity to respond to emergency calls and serve our citizens every hour of every day. . That's my top priority. ”
