620 Sixth after Bed Bath & Beyond went bankrupt in 2021, leaving 100,000 square feet of land at the iconic Ladies Mile address, half vacant with office and retail vacancies. The situation in the city's retail industry has become bleak.
Some genius predicted the doom of the entire shopping corridor north of West 14th Street.
Not so fast. The 700,000 square foot cast iron behemoth between West 18th and West 19th Streets is currently 100% full. Ulta Beauty just scooped the last remaining 11,503-square-foot, ground-floor store at 620 Sixth.
The asking rent was $175 per square foot. This will be Ulta's third Big Apple store.
The deal follows Burlington Coat Factory's recent contract for approximately 80,000 square feet of land.
The property, owned by RXR and Hudson Bay Capital, has had more than 490,000 square feet of leases signed in the past 12 months.
