talk to Breitbart News Daily The day before his confirmation hearings began, he said the left was afraid of Hegseth because he was acutely aware of the dysfunction and corruption in the Pentagon.
“But the reason they don't want Pete Hegseth in there is because Pete Hegseth came out as a major…Once you get into that position, that's when your eyes are opened in the military, and I'm a senior I was a petty officer, so that's it.'' My eyes were open and I thought, “Oh my god.'' “There's so much corruption and careerism in this sector and there are horrible things going on.”
“That's what they're afraid of, because in your military career, after you become a senior noncommissioned officer, have some staff positions, or become a colonel, that's when you go behind the curtain. “There's no one there,” he said.
“At that point, we see that the Pentagon has become a self-licking ice cream cone in many ways. This means that the Pentagon has begun to protect the Pentagon, not the United States of America. That's a terrible statement,” he continued, noting that the Pentagon “has never passed an audit.”

We have the most highly educated, most powerful military in the history of the planet. “The fact that we haven't won a war in 80 years means something is wrong,” he said, emphasizing his desire for peace.
“No one has solved X. Pete Hegseth will solve X. X is peaceful. That's what we want,” he said. “We don't want endless wars.”
