Chiefs’ Travis Kelce responds to NFL postseason-related question with Taylor Swift lyric

The Kansas City Chiefs' quest to win an unprecedented third consecutive Vince Lombardi Trophy begins in earnest on Saturday when they welcome the Houston Texans to Arrowhead Stadium for a playoff game.

The Texans defeated the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round over the weekend, clinching a ticket to the Divisional Round. Travis Kelce, 35, has been in the NFL for more than a decade, but the Chiefs star tight end told ESPN's Pat McAfee that he still feels he has the energy of a young athlete. He said he is doing so.

When asked about his state of mind as the Chiefs head into the playoffs, Kelce actually cited a specific number: 22. “22” is also the title of a song from pop star Taylor Swift's album “Red.”

“I don't know about you, but I feel like I'm 22,” he said during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show this week, nodding to one of the song's lyrics.

Kelce and Swift have been romantically involved for more than a year, and Swift has been regularly appearing at Chiefs games since the 2023 season.

Kelce was recently selected to his 10th consecutive Pro Bowl. However, he would probably prefer to skip the event and attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

Although Kelce fell short of the coveted 1,000 receiving yard mark this regular season, he seemed to be getting better in the playoffs as the year progressed.

Kelce was a key part of three Super Bowl championship teams, including last year's title as the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 11. No NFL team has ever won three consecutive Super Bowls.
