Tennis Star Daniil Medvedev Assaults Camera in Wild Outburst

Some athletes are better able to handle disappointment, even during competition. Tennis star Daniil Medvedev is not one of them.

Medvedev, one of the highest-ranked competitors in the world, suffered an unexpected scare after losing points in a hard-fought battle with world No. 418 Kassidit Samrej. By losing points, Russia was in danger of losing 2 sets to 1.

How did Medvedev cope with unexpected trouble and the possibility of humiliating failure? He totally beat the camera.

Neither the racket nor the camera could withstand the attack.

Despite receiving a penalty for throwing a tantrum, Medvedev came back to beat Samrezi.

After the match, Medvedev admitted that he was surprised by his opponent's skill and offered some thoughts on what benefits would befall his defeated opponent if he maintained that level of play.

“If he plays like this every game… maybe his life will be good,” Medvedev said. “Money, women, casinos…anything goes.”

It is unclear whether Medvedev was basing his predictions on experience, but it is likely true.
