‘People Don’t Seem to Be Taking Climate Change Seriously’ — Like ‘Slow Death’

On Tuesday, Joy Behar of ABC's “The View” told her co-hosts during a discussion about the California wildfires that she was worried because “people don't seem to be taking climate change seriously.” spoke.

“What I was thinking all weekend is that people don't seem to be taking climate change seriously. They can blame Newsom. I mean, Trump has already called him names,” Behar said. As you know, it's a very low level thing to do. Now, the climate is changing, and the Republicans keep rolling back every policy to make things better. And to me, that's a terrible attack on Mother Nature, you know. There was bad advertising. They should start doing it again.”

She added: “At the Ife ceremony, everyone who stands up and accepts the award will make a statement about the climate. If a missile were to come flying into this country, we would all stand up in arms. It's like a slow death, and there's going to be more fires and landslides and hurricanes and everything else. This is an existential threat that we're dealing with in this country and in the world, but no one. You don’t seem to be paying attention to it.”
