Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said during an appearance on Tuesday's Pete Hegseth hearing that Democratic senators exposed “mismanagement at the Pentagon.” Breitbart News Daily.
“The Democrats seemed shrill to me,” Johnson said of the Democrats' demeanor during Tuesday's hearing for Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump's pick for defense secretary.
“If anything, they're just exposing the mismanagement of the Pentagon during the Biden administration and demanding that Pete have some magical management skills to fix everything,” the senator explained.

“From my perspective, Pete and President Trump have the right idea. Let's wake up the military. Let's focus on lethality, military readiness, qualifications, meritocracy, things like that. That's something that most Americans on our side of the aisle agree with. I think it's going to be popular,” Johnson said, noting that the military has not met its recruiting goals.
He attributes this, in part, to a woke effort within the military that began in earnest under the Biden administration.
“Those who have the courage to serve and sacrifice are risking their lives to protect our freedoms. They don't want to go into the military and turn it into a social experiment. They go there to protect, to be warriors, and it's really disgusting if they go there, and you know, they're denied a promotion because they're not in the right position. “It doesn't look the right way,” he continued.

During a question and answer session at Tuesday's hearing, Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) asked Hegseth how the military would react if the woke nonsense was eliminated.
“If that was confirmed and you lifted the yoke of Biden wakefulness from the necks of the military and issued an order to focus on lethality and combat, how do you think the military would respond?” he asked.
“Senator, I know the troops will be happy. They'll love it,” Hegseth replied. “They’re going to love it, and it’s already showing in the hiring numbers.”
Hegseth added that the military would “gladly” comply with the order. He added that this is because “the military is focused on lethality and combat, and we want to eliminate all woke political privilege, political correctness, social justice, and politics from the military.”
