Former kids’ camp manager arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting boy, sending him nude images of herself

A New Jersey woman faces multiple child sex crime charges after authorities say she had an illicit relationship with an underage male over several months. The female suspect is said to be a former manager of a kids camp.

According to Salem County Jail recordTara Carr, 46, was arrested on January 9th. Carr was charged with one count of luring/seducing a child by various means, two counts of sexual assault, and two counts of sexual conduct with a child.

“Tara is the victim here. She reported this raid from two boys, and I say boys because they are gang members with guns.”

Carr, of Woodstown, is accused of having an illicit relationship with a 14-year-old boy between March and May 2024.

philadelphia inquirer reported Carr allegedly sent the boy sexually explicit messages and nude photos of himself on the Snapchat app. Citing a probable cause affidavit for Carr's arrest, the newspaper reported that she sexually abused the child in the back seat of a Chevrolet SUV.

According to the affidavit, Carr admitted to police that she picked up the boy from the apartment complex several times and hugged and kissed him at least once. She allegedly communicated with him on Snapchat, where he confessed to sending her underage nude images.

According to those involved, WCAU-TV Investigators reportedly obtained Carr's cell phone and accessed her Snapchat account, which corroborated the alleged victim's claims.

Carr's lawyer, Charles Peruto, said his client was innocent and claimed the boy and another boy were attempting to “shakedown” the woman.

“The allegations are completely and completely false,” Peruto told the Philadelphia Examiner. “Tara is the victim here. She reported this raid because of these two boys. I say boys because they are gang members with guns.”

Pelt claimed that the two boys threatened Carr with a gun. The attorney said his client reported the threat to the Woodstown Police Department, which did not immediately respond to requests for comment from investigators.

Pelt said Carr's children attend the same school as the alleged victim.

The Inquirer, citing court records, said Carr is being held in the Salem County Jail awaiting a detention hearing scheduled for Wednesday.

The paper added that Mr Kerr is a member of the Rastelli family, owners of the Rastelli Foods Group.

According to WPVI-TV“Kerr is a former co-owner of Rastelli Kids Complex and former director of Camp Sam, a popular summer program for RKC children.”

Kerr served as director of the Rastelli Kids Complex until May 2024. Rastelli Kids Complex is a children's recreation complex in Sewell that hosts programs such as cheerleading camps and summer and day camps.

George Polgar, a spokesman for the Rastelli family, told the outlet that Kerr was asked to resign as soon as the child sexual abuse allegations surfaced.

Polgar also said the alleged victim had never visited the sports complex, stressing that Kerr's role as director was that of a manager and not involved in day-to-day operations, according to the Inquire. Ra newspaper pointed out. Polgar added that in his role as a director, Kerr sometimes worked at sports facilities and had contact with children.

“First, Tara Carr is not involved in any organized activity that has anything to do with children,” Polgar said. “She was involved with the family's sports center, but she hasn't been involved since May last year. She was one of several people involved in the management there. He wasn't involved in the program.” ”

Rastelli Kids Complex released a statement saying, “While Tara was previously an owner of RKC, she has never had any involvement in the SJS cheer program or team operations or coaching, and will not continue to have any role at SJS. No,” he announced.
