20 AGs Call for Swift Senate Confirmations of Noem, Bondi, Patel

Attorneys general from 20 states are calling on the U.S. Senate to quickly confirm President-elect Donald Trump's nominees for attorney general, secretary of homeland security and director of the FBI.

In a letter obtained by Breitbart News, Attorney General Liz Murrill (R-Louisiana) leads a group of 19 lawmakers from around the country endorsing Gov. Kristi Noem (R-South Dakota) for DHS secretary. I sent a letter to President Trump's nominee for attorney general, Pam Bondi. Kash Patel was selected by President Trump to lead the FBI.

“Even under normal circumstances, it is essential that President Trump has a national security team in place from day one, and these are not normal times,” the attorneys general said in the Jan. 15 letter. “Events over the holidays are a stark reminder of why delays in confirming America First leaders to these critical positions are unacceptable.”

The letter, addressed to Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-South Dakota) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York), said the Biden administration was putting Americans at risk. added.

“For four years, the Biden administration has put the American people at risk. President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas' reckless open border policies have allowed millions of illegal immigrants to enter the country without inspection, vetting, or oversight. “We have allowed them to do this,'' the attorney general wrote, citing Laken Riley's murderer and “ISIS terrorist suspects'' as examples.

“The national security risks posed by a porous and unsecured border are clear and concerning, and Governor Noem is the person the United States needs to help President Trump restore border security,” the letter said. Continuing.

The attorney general then turned his attention to issues within the Justice Department and FBI in defense of Mr. Bondi and Mr. Patel.

The Justice Department and FBI are also in dire need of reform. Violent crime is on the rise in American cities under President Biden. FBI crime statistics (which the FBI was forced to revise after falsely claiming that violent crime had decreased) show that violent crime will increase by nearly 5 percent in 2022… The deterioration is not surprising. Instead of focusing on getting violent criminals off the streets, President Biden's Justice Department and FBI are treating concerned parents attending school board meetings as if they are violent extremists. I've been targeting. considered conservative Catholics to be domestic terrorists. And he sought to weaponize the justice system against his political opponents, including President Trump. General Bondi and Mr. Patel are the people we need to get the Justice Department and FBI back on track and focused on protecting the American people.

Signatories include the following Attorneys General:

  1. Muril
  2. Steve Marshall (R-AL)
