Rams rookie edge rusher Jared Verse did not reveal his feelings for the Eagles faithful ahead of Sunday's NFC divisional round playoff game at Lincoln Financial Field.
“I hate Eagles fans,” Vaas, 24, said. Los Angeles Times on Thursday. “They're really annoying. I hate Eagles fans.”
Barth, who is competing for Defensive Rookie of the Year, has roots in Pennsylvania.
He grew up in Berwick, Pennsylvania and attended Central Columbia High School in Bloomsburg.
Verse recalled hearing a Philadelphia fan yell an obscenity at him when the Rams hosted the Eagles at SoFi Stadium in November — and while wearing headphones. However, he heard every word.
“I'm not doing nothing for them,” he said. “It was my first time playing. Oh, I hate Eagles fans.”
The poem wasn't finished.
“When I see that green and white, I hate it,” he said. “I'm actually upset. I feel like I'm going to get really hot.”
NFL players have been open about heckling from Eagles fans.
Vaas made the comments following a viral incident involving a fan during Sunday's wild card game between the Eagles and Packers in Philadelphia.
Eagles fan Ryan Caldwell was caught on video repeatedly heckling female Packers fan Allie Keller, calling her an “idiot.”
Caldwell was fired this week from his job at a DEI-focused company and banned from all future events at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field.
Caldwell apologized in a statement to the Post, saying the video circulating online “does not reflect the full context of what happened and my actions were not without provocation.” Explained.
