A New Jersey teacher had an illicit relationship with a 13-year-old boy she lived with for four years and gave birth to the student's baby, police said.

Ms. Caron taught fifth grade at Middle Township Elementary School in the Cape May Court House community in the southernmost tip of the state. Authorities said Caron educated the alleged victim and his brother.
The alleged victim's mother is said to have become friends with Caron over the years. Their mother sent the boys and their younger sister to stay with their teacher so she could take them to school.
“The father explained that it started with one or two nights a week and eventually the children moved to live with Karon permanently from 2016 to 2020,” the affidavit states.
Caron made her first court appearance on Thursday, during which the judge reportedly Caron said he is a “resource family parent” to his children.
The alleged victim's sister told investigators that the children sleep in a shared room on the second floor of the teacher's house. However, the sister said she noticed the next morning that her brother was sometimes in Caron's bed.
