Capital One dealing with service disruption, mostly related to deposits – ABC News

Capital One's service continued to be disrupted on Friday, with some customers complaining that they couldn't see their deposits.

As of 8:04 a.m. ET, there were about 3,400 reported outages, according to Downdetector. This is up from about 2,100 cases reported early Thursday. Most of the complaints seem to be coming from the eastern half of the United States, but problems have also been reported in areas as far west as Arizona and California.

The company says 90% of issues reported by customers are related to deposits. Account balances accounted for 7% of reported issues, and online logins accounted for 3%.

Capital One said in a statement that the disruption, which affected the processing of some deposits, payments and transfers, began Wednesday and was caused by a technical issue with one of its service providers.

The company apologized for the inconvenience caused and said it was working closely with the provider to resolve the issue. Capital One added that it plans to process all delayed deposits and other transactions once its systems are restored.

However, many customers are still dissatisfied. The company's @AskCapitalOne customer service account on X continues to receive complaints.

“Do you guys have ETA yet? No direct deposit yet,” one X user wrote on Friday morning.

“Set realistic expectations and be honest with your customers. If you don't, your reputation and business will be ruined,” another wrote.
