But those who dislike President Trump interpreted the image as portraying him as an agent of chaos, haphazardly eliminating the status quo and norms of the previous administration.

The magazine named Trump its annual Person of the Year in December, but it quickly drew criticism from readers who supported Vice President Kamala Harris in the election just weeks earlier.
