NFL fans commonly use the term “frozen tundra” to describe conditions at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. But that word could have been used to describe the field at Highmark Stadium for Sunday night's playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens.
Light snow fell in Orchard Park, New York, and the temperature dropped to about 16 degrees. The ball became slippery, harder to catch, and tackling just a little more painful.

The Bills maintained the lead in the fourth quarter with two field goals by Tyler Bass and won 27-25.
It was the Ravens who felt the effects of the conditions late in the game.
Lamar Jackson found tight end Mark Andrews for a 16-yard completion with 8:50 left in the game. But Bills linebacker Terrell Bernard punched the ball out of Andrews' hands, and Buffalo recovered the fumble. It was one of three turnovers committed by Baltimore.
It wasn't over yet.
Jackson and the Ravens could still tie the game. He led the team with an eight-play, 88-yard drive that ended with a 24-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Likely. The Ravens were down by two points.

Baltimore set up for a two-point conversion attempt. Jackson breaks from the right side, leaving Andrews open. The ball went into the hands of a veteran tight end, but he was unable to catch it. The Bills breathed a sigh of relief and finished the game.
Josh Allen scored two rushing touchdowns in the game. He completed 16 of 22 passes for 127 yards.
A magical season has come to an end for the Ravens.
Jackson completed 18 of 25 for 254 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The Bills defense held Derrick Henry to 84 rushing yards. This was the fewest yards allowed since Dec. 15 against the New York Giants.
The Bills will next face the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship for a spot in Super Bowl LIX. Buffalo defeated Kansas City 30-21 on November 17th.
