Aaron Glenn has been reconsidered by the Jets for their head coaching vacancy, and this is an in-person interview.
Glenn, who was drafted 12th overall by the Jets in 1994 and is currently the Lions defensive coordinator, conducted a virtual interview with the Jets while Detroit was still in the playoff picture.
With the Lions eliminated from the playoffs by Washington on Saturday night, Glenn is now free to visit with the team in person. He is reportedly scheduled to visit the Saints on Wednesday for an in-person interview.
Glenn also did a virtual interview with the Saints, who are also affiliated with the Saints, where he coached defensive backs in New Orleans from 2016 to 2020 and played in 2008.
The Jets may have to act quickly if Glenn is their first choice. New Orleans is clearly interested, as the Saints have already named a general manager, Mickey Loomis, who is in his 22nd season with the team and knows Glenn well. .
Of course, the Jets remain without a general manager, which could complicate matters if team owner Woody Johnson wants to hire Glenn. That's because if Johnson wants to attract his top GM candidate, the job will probably be less attractive if that GM has nothing to do with the team's head coaching hire.
The Jets interviewed about 15 candidates for the vacant general manager position, which Joe Douglas held for six years before being fired midseason.

They interviewed 16 candidates for the vacant head coaching position.
If Glenn is their guy, they'll have to act quickly, likely following decisions from both the GM and head coach.
