A new executive order signed by President Trump declares that the new administration recognizes only both genders, reversing gender identity policies under the Biden administration.
The executive order states, “It is the policy of the United States to recognize the two genders of men and women.'' “These genders cannot be changed and are based on a fundamental and indisputable reality. Under my direction, the executive branch will enforce all gender protection laws to advance this reality. .”

The order states, “Agency and all federal employees must enforce laws governing gender-based rights, protections, opportunities, and accommodations to protect men and women as biologically distinct sexes.'' It is stated that “must be done”.
The law directs the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security to “ensure that men are not detained in women's prisons or confined in women's detention centers.” Additionally, the executive order requires government-issued identification, including a passport or visa, to reflect the biologically-based definition.

The executive order “replaces the immutable biological reality of sex with an internal, fluid, subjective sense of self that is free from biological facts and uses everyday and long-standing biological and scientific terminology.” It objects to what it describes as “a sustained and deliberate attack on the use and understanding of the United States.” ”
“Invalidating the true biological category of 'woman' inappropriately transforms laws and policies designed to protect sex-based opportunities into laws and policies that undermine them, and long-held values.” “It replaces traditional legal rights and values with an incomplete social concept based on identity,'' the order says. “Therefore, my administration will protect women's rights and protect their conscience by using clear and precise language and policies that recognize that women are biologically female and men are biologically male.
