Ahead of Tuesday's announcement of the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame class, Post voters released their ballots. The result boded well for the three players.
All 10 of the paper's voters checked CC Sabathia and Ichiro, and 9 out of 10 chose Carlos Beltrán, which means these three are the 75 percent standard for induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame (with this small sample size). It means that it exceeded.
Former Mets closer Billy Wagner, in his final year on the ballot, narrowly missed out, receiving the votes of seven out of 10 Post voters.
Alex Rodriguez received three votes from Post reporters.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Ichiro, Sabathia, Wagner and Beltran had all received enough votes to be inducted, according to Ryan Thibodeau's Hall of Fame voting tracking tool.
