Former Australian tennis star Arina Rodionova announces divorce, sets up OnlyFans account

A former Australian tennis player revealed on Wednesday that she is divorcing her husband, a former Australian Football League player, while teasing her newly created OnlyFans account in a bizarre video.

Immediately after losing at the Australian Open, Alina Rodionova shared on her Instagram account that she and Ty Vickery had separated after nine years of marriage.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I have something to announce quickly: We are getting a divorce,'' Rodionova said casually.

Vickery grinned as she sat back with a half-eaten banana.

“Things happen in life. We have a lot of love for each other, but sometimes it just isn't enough,” she wrote in the post.

The couple had been living separately for a year without the knowledge of family and friends, but decided to share the news of their divorce with their 25,000 social media followers.

“We're doing well, we're both good, we wish each other the best,” Vickery added.

Ms. Rodionova awkwardly returned her hand to Ms. Vickery, and Ms. Vickery placed the banana in her hand, and the two burst into laughter.

Rodionova followed up the video post on her Instagram Story from the plane.

“Goodbye Australia, I love you always,” she wrote, noting that she saved her followers by going through the breakup without sharing a touching quote.

The 35-year-old Russian-born tennis player was eliminated in the Australian Open qualifying round earlier this month after losing in straight sets to German Eva Lyth.

The couple married in December 2015, hours after Rodionova earned a wild card spot in the 2016 Australian Open qualifying tournament.

Before launching her OnlyFans account, recent Instagram posts featured Rodionova in racy poses and other racy acts.

Divorce rumors began to spread among her fans when she announced the creation of an adult fan site on January 12th.

“Good news for everyone who was asking. Now that your OnlyFans account has been verified, here we go. Let's do this,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

Rodionova describes herself on the site as a “but fun tennis player.”

Rodionova's career change may have been influenced by fans who pointed out that she could earn more off the court.

“Don't play tennis. You can make more money on OnlyFans,” she said during a vlog appearance last year, calling it the “best compliment” of the year.

Rodionova's singles career had little success, but she reached the quarterfinals in both women's doubles and mixed doubles at the Australian Open.

Rodionova was rumored to have broken up with her long-term partner after signing up for an adult site.

Last year, 34-year-old Rodionova achieved No. 97 in the women's singles rankings, making her the oldest woman to break into the top 100.

Rodionova became the highest-ranked Australian woman to break into the top 100 for a short period of time.

She is currently ranked 184th in the WTA rankings.
