Rhode Island judge Joseph Molina Flynn specializing in immigration law resigns after FBI raids office

FBI agents assaulted immigration attorney and Central Falls Municipal Court Judge Joseph Molina Flynn in Providence, Rhode Island, on Thursday, but the reason for the attack has not yet been disclosed.

An FBI spokesperson confirmed the court approved the raid, but the spokesperson declined to comment further.

Molina Flynn's office has remained silent about the attack and declined to answer calls or emails from Fox News.

The site also notes that Judge was born in Medellin, Colombia, and arrived in the United States on a tourist visa when he was nine years old.

He remained in the country and was undocumented for 15 years before gaining legal permanent resident status, the site added.

Molina Flynn attended Johnson and Wales Universities and then went on to the University of Michigan School of Law in Ann Arbor.

An FBI spokesperson confirmed the court approved the raid, but the spokesperson declined further comment. wjar

On Thursday, Molina Flynn resigned from her position as district court judge for the city of Central Falls, a job she was appointed to in 2021.

The Providence Journal reported that Molina Flynn's resignation was announced by Central Falls Mayor Maria Rivera shortly after news of the attack broke.

“I was deeply concerned when I saw reports of the FBI search at the law office of Joseph Molina Flynn,” Rivera told the publication.

“As the Central Falls community knows, transparency and accountability are my priorities. In order to protect the integrity and focus of the district court, Judge Morena Flynn has officially resigned from his position. ”
