Cowboys eye ex-Bears head coach Matt Eberflus as next defensive coordinator

The cowboys seem to be looking at Matt Evals.

Around Friday night report from ESPNFormer Bears head coach is a “major candidate” of the team's defensive coordinator.

The news was brought after the Cowboys promoted Brian Shoten Hymer two seasons as a team attack coordinator and replaced Mike McCarsey as the next head coach of the team.

From 2022 to late 2024, Eberflus, a Bears head coach, was a Cowboys line backer coach in 2011-17.

EberFlus coaching journey has designed two play -off -bound defense as a Coltz defensive coordinator from 2018 to 2018.

His performance in Indianapolis has led to the employment of Bears as a head coach.

However, after editing the 14-32 record over the two plus seasons, Bears broke up in November 2024 after giving a miserable loss to the Lions at Thanksgiving Day.

During the first stint with Eberflus's cowboys, he worked for an outstanding line backer, such as Sean Lee and Jaylon Smith.

If he was hired for the coordinator, Evals would take on the mission to revitalize the defense of the struggling cowboys in 2024, and allow the second point and the fifth yard in the league.
