The Kansas City Chiefs received a favorable call in the second half of the AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
On third-and-5 with 3:13 left in the second quarter, Patrick Mahomes scrambled and found enough space to throw the ball to Xavier Worthy. Rookie wide receiver and billing safety Cole Bishop both flew for the ball. It looked like Bishop might have gotten the ball while he was in the air, but when they came down to the ground, it looked like Worth could have gotten his arm around it. It was.

Officials ruled that Value completed the catch, and it was a Chiefs ball rather than a Bills interception. Buffalo was also called for a holding penalty, so it was unlikely the ball ever got back to them.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott challenged whether it was a completed catch. Replays appeared to show the tip of the football hitting the ground. But still, the play was caught and dominated.

A few plays later, the Chiefs scored on Patrick Mahomes' touchdown run. Kansas City took a 21-10 lead.
NFL fans were quick to point out that the questionable call went in favor of the Chiefs.
NFL officials' alleged favoritism towards the Chiefs had spotlighted questionable calls in a divisional round win over the Houston Texans.
Mahomes was asked about the alleged favoritism during the week.
“I don't feel that way,” he said. “…I'm trying to play football at the end of the day. The referees are trying their best to call the game as fair and appropriately as possible.
