Pacific Palisades to Reopen Immediately

Los Angeles County officials announced Sunday evening during a mayoral meeting with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass that Pacific Palisades will fully reopen to residents during the day on Monday, January 27, much earlier than planned.

Two days ago, Friday, during a roundtable discussion at a local fire station, Bass told President Donald Trump it was not safe for residents to return. After residents at the rally objected, Bass relented and said he could return “within a week.”

President Trump replied, “That's a long time. One week.” To be honest, for me, every person standing in front of my house wants to go to work and is not allowed to do so. …They are safe. they are safe. you know what? they are not safe. They are not safe now. They will be safer. For me, a week, a week is actually a long time. ”

As Breitbart News reported, many Palisades residents were encouraged by the president and began flocking to their homes and grounds on Saturday, often speaking as they walked past police. And on Sunday, the county finally relented and agreed to let them return Monday, weather permitting. Residents can visit the grounds for as long as they wish until 5 p.m.

Some search for their belongings in the rubble, while others simply grieve, accept their loss and make peace.

The process of removing debris is more complex and can take several months. But now, for many, healing can begin.
