Wild video shows moment passenger plane is hit by lightening

A striking video shows the moment a British Airways plane was struck by lightning while sitting at the gate of an airport in Brazil on Friday.

In a video posted on X by Bernhard Warr, a British Airways plane is parked in the rain at the gates of São Paulo/Garulhos International Airport in Brazil.

As future passengers were waiting to board, lightning could be seen striking the tail of the aircraft. The video appeared to be modified to show the strike in slow motion, as one of Tarmac's crew members can be seen walking slowly towards the rear of the plane.

“I'm in the glue waiting to get home [but] My plane had to go out for the check, “Waugh wrote.
