Trump congratulates Chiefs on win, mum on Eagles

In a late-night social media post, President Trump congratulated the Kansas City Chiefs after winning the AFC Championship Game and advancing to another Super Bowl. However, the president was quiet regarding the Philadelphia Eagles' victory in the NFC Championship Game.

“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs.” Trump wrote on his truth social site. “Virtually everything, including great teams, coaches, quarterbacks, and their great fans, voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers.”

Trump also congratulated Buffalo Bill on a “tremendous season” and said the bill has many future victories.

Buffalo lost to the Chiefs 32-29, giving Kansas City a chance with its third straight Super Bowl victory.

The president did not mention the Eagles' real social victory. Philadelphia returned to the Super Bowl, defeating the Washington Commanders 55-23.

This is the fifth time the Chiefs have reached the Super Bowl in the past six years and the second time for Philadelphia. The two teams previously appeared in the Super Bowl in 2023.

During his first term, Trump canceled a planned White House visit by the Eagles, who won the 2018 Super Bowl. Trump said the team was not invited because Philadelphia players knelt to protest police brutality rather than standing during the national anthem. However, there are no Eagles players. reportedly Kneeling during the national anthem and staying in the locker room while it was being played during the previous season.

This year's Super Bowl will be held in New Orleans on February 9th.
