At the end of a Thursday's hearing, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said, “R-LA.”
Doctor Cassidi repeatedly appealed to Kennedy to publicly declare that vaccine would not cause autism.
“It will have an incredible effect,” said Cassidi.
But Kennedy did not do that. He only says that if evidence is not so, he will apologize for his past comments suggesting a link.
Cassidi pointed out that Kennedy had a “megaphone” and used it to question the vaccine.

The second Thursday hearing in two days was a lower stake than Wednesday. Unlike the Senate Finance Committee, the hearing of the Health Committee was courtesy. The committee does not vote for Kennedy's nomination to the floor.
However, Cassidi is sitting in both committees and is considered an important swing voting. If Kennedy cleared the Finance Committee, he could only afford three Republican Republican votes on the Senate floor.
Cassidi also questioned whether Kennedy could harm Trump's heritage.
