Trevor Noah talks tariffs at Grammys: 'Maple syrup is about to be $50'

The customs lectures are on the stage of the Grammy Award. The host trever Noah said that Beyonce fans could not buy concert tickets because of the possibility of a trade war that President Trump ignited.

“Beyonce announced her new tour yesterday,” Noah said on Sunday.

“But Beyonce has a tariff. I can't afford to buy a new tour,” said Noah.

“The maple syrup is going to be $ 50,” he added to the audience laughing.

The Grammy Award punch line came after Trump, one day ago, imposed a 25 % tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, and then imposed 10 % of tariffs in China. Customs duties are ready to come into effect on Tuesday.

In the monologue of the CBS AWARDS show Noah's Grammy Award, customs duties were not the only mention of hot buttons.

“We intend to praise the best music in music, as voted by 13,000 members of the Recording Academy and 20 million illegal immigrants,” said Noah.

Noah, born in South Africa, is going to enjoy it tonight because there have been some changes in Washington without name Trump.
