US Vice President JD Vance reportedly has a family considering following his political footsteps after abruptly unveiling the mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio, run.

Vance's brother, Cory Bowman, is a local pastor, coffee shop owner and registered Republican.
Bowman announced his mayoral candidacy this week. He cites his older Half Brother's inauguration as a large part of his own inspiration to run for mayor. Cincinnati Enquiler.
Bowman announced in a recent social media post that he has already petitioned to do so.
“A few weeks ago, my flight landed on CVG [airport]head home from the most monumental inauguration of my generation. When I landed, I knew a city where my family and I lived and where love could not fall behind the important years ahead,” Bowman said in a statement.
“A lot of people have told me I'm ready. They'll come after you.” “I don't know who they are or if 'they' are watching this.” But my heart is this… to offer Cincinnati people a choice. A choice to see years of prosperity, growth and joy in our incredible downtown. ”
He added: They need to make choices to determine their future. ”
The last Republican candidate to run for mayor of Cincinnati was Bradwenstrap in 2009. Wenstrup later ran for the US House seat and won that race.
Cincinnati is currently run by an all-democratic council of nine people after Republican Liz Keating was voted in 2023.
So far, eight people have filed petitions to run for mayor of Cincinnati. Cincinnati Enquiler. February 20ththh The deadline for submitting the 500 signatures required to be placed on the ballot.
However, potential candidates, including Democrat First-term Mayor Aftab Pureval, have not yet met the requirements. Nevertheless, Pureval reaffirmed the newspaper.
Meanwhile, Bowman pointed out that he had already spoken with Vance in the “early stage” about running to the highest position in the city.
“He speaks pretty well for himself, so I don't necessarily speak for my brother. He's doing well,” he told a local outlet, saying Vance was on the way to get into politics. He added that it had an impact.
“I think he's an incredible roll model.”
The two share their same father, Donald Bowman.
Vance tells in his memoirs “Hilbilly Elegy” He later reunited with his father and half-brothers, including Corey during his teens.
Vance explains living with her father on a family farm in Prebble County, and shares another experience growing up with a mother who fought drug addiction.
Bowman is currently operating River churchand he also owns a coffee shop called King's Arms Coffee Roasters Shop, located on the western edge of Cincinnati.
“My heart fell in love with it,” he said of the neighborhood.
Vance has not yet commented on the announcement of his Half Brother campaign.
