Venezuelan Human Rights Group Unveils Identities of Americans Freed After Grenell Visit

Venezuela's non-governmental organization FORO Punishment released a list of names of six American men who returned home last week as a result of negotiations led by President Donald Trump.

Four Punishment also announced the identity of Americans who remained unfairly imprisoned by the socialist regime.

Unlike the other four, Auther and Batista are not part of two groups of Americans detained by the Maduro administration September and October “Hacks” to the infrastructure of the Venezuelan state, and other actions, regarding alleged involvement in a suspicious conspiracy to assassinate Maduro.

According to the Maduro administration, which did not provide evidence to demonstrate the charges, the CIA and the Spanish National Intelligence Centre (CNI) were both behind the alleged conspiracy. Neither the Maduro administration, Foro Prison, nor the Venezuelan news outlet have released further information on the circumstances behind the arrests of Author and Batista.

The prison also details that as of Wednesday, February 5th, there are still five Americans and two legal permanent residents remaining incarcerated in Venezuela.
