The efficiency of President Donald Trump and his government wasted no time exposing large, unfair spending of taxpayer dollars by USAID.
According to Elon Musk in the X Spaces conversation, Trump believes that government agencies cannot fix it due to minor house cleaning and need to close it.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio similarly told reporters at his confirmation hearing that “every dollar and every program we spend on is consistent with our national interests to the United States.”
“USAID has a history of ignoring that and somehow determining that there is a global charity separate from its national interests. These are taxpayer dollars,” continued Rubio.

But others have come to the defense of USAID, like Bill Christol, the director of democracy. In a post on X, Christol wrote, “Deep state is much more favorable than the Trump state.”
The Christol organization is listed as an indirect beneficiary of USAID through Rockefeller's charity advisor.
