Democrats are known for coordinating smear campaigns against candidates they dislike, namely candidates who don't promote the agenda. And they don't employ every step of the necessary means to drag someone's name and reputation into the mud, even if it means lying completely.
Their thankfully failed attack on Defense Secretary Pete Hegses is the latest in how the left coordinates with political operatives, the media and even disgruntled families to block someone's appointment. It's one of the examples.

Like most smear campaigns, the campaign launched against Pete Hegses was multifaceted. First, they said he was not qualified to do his job. They then drank old allegations of sexual assault that were investigated and dismissed several years ago. In the next stage, they obtained anonymous signatures from some of Hegses' former colleagues who claim he was drunk.
When that wasn't enough to stop him from being appointed, Sen. Jack Reed (Dr.i.) wrote to Pete's step-sister, Daniel Hegses, asking examples of attacks and violence. I did. She then signed an affidavit claiming that Hegseth was offensive and that his ex-wife, Samantha, often feared her safety.
This is easy to expose, says Levin.
First, when Samantha was contacted by Daniel about the affidavit, she denied the allegations and assures that Heggs had never been physically abused against her. Additionally, in their divorce papers, Pete and Samantha signed a paper that said neither of them were victims of domestic abuse.
The nails in this ridiculous smear co- is that Pete and Samantha share the co-management of their three children.
“The judge or magistrate is not going to grant joint custody of the child if one of the parents is violent or abusive or threatens violence. In this case, they seek joint custody. So they have joint custody,” he explains.
“[Democrats] Desperate to destroy the rest of the relationship between ex-wife and Pete, they intend to destroy the future of these three children by continuing to pursue this, and they say that Schumer is the evil behind this I don't care because it's a power,” he continues.
The fact that Hegseth's former step-sisters were totally involved is evidence that this was a “complete setup.”
