Chelsea Handler held the 2025 Critics Choice Awards on Friday night, opening the show with standing ovations from firefighters and first responders who fought against Ryas last month.
Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldanya, Sarah Michelle Geller and everyone got up from their seats.
Handler then joked, referring to the duel lawsuits between “It'll End With Us” stars Blake Lively and Justin Bardoni.

“I would like to acknowledge that we all have gone through a lot recently, not just here in Los Angeles, but throughout our country. I wake up every day and hear things that disappoint us or fear us. Without knowing the news that was happening.

“So it's important to be distracted during these times, which is why I want to thank Justin Bardoni and Blake Lively, and I'm grateful for everything.
“I think everyone in this room can agree that no matter who you are on your side, perhaps, there's no sequel.”

“It's going to end with us,” everyone,” joked Handler.
The camera panned to Orlando Bloom, who was one of the crowd laughing at the handler's jokes.
Handler joked that “Nepo Baby” Kate Hudson and her brother's wife, Erin Bartlett, would be awarded the first award. They presented the best ensemble to “Conclave,” starring Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci.

Michael Urier joked that Harrison Ford was the best “up-and-coming” actor after working with him in “reducing.”

Liev Schreiber and Jessica Gunning won the best supporting actors in the limited series for their roles in “Baby Toninteer” and “The Perfect Couple.”
Tadanobu Asano and Moeka Hoshi won the award for Best Actor in the “Shogun” drama series.

Hoshi mentioned La Fais during her acceptance speech.
“Even from Japan, I always remember you, thinking of you,” she said.
The Best Animated Feature Award was awarded to “The Wild Robot.”
Animated film producer Jeff Hermann “a great thank you to our first responders” as a member of the Altadena community, which was devastated by Eton Fire.
Colin Farrell won Best Actor in a limited series or film made for TV for “The Penguin.”
Farrell honored the firefighters and first responders.
“It's very easy for first responders and fire departments to not even reflect on what they do monthly, monthly and yearly. But seeing them work with a sense of civic duties and responsibility. It was moving very much,” he said.

The best actress in the limited series went to Christine Milioti. The Best Limited Series was awarded to Baby Reindeer.

The best actor in the comedy series was awarded to Adam Brody for “no one wants this.” He attended an awards show with his wife, Layton Meester, after the couple reportedly lost their home during the Palisade fire.

“Hack” won the Best Comedy Series award.
The best supporting actor was awarded to Kieran Culkin for his role in “True Pain.” The best actor in the drama series was awarded to Sanada Island for “The General.”
Kathy Bates won the best actress in the “Matt Rock” drama series, thanking the firefighters and revealed that the show's producers lost their home in the Palisade fire.
“Shogun” won the Best Drama Series Award. “Emilia Perez” won the best foreign language film award.
Orlando Bloom introduced John M. Chew to Best Director for “Wicked.” In his acceptance speech, Chu said, “America is the biggest place in the world.”

Demi Moore and Angelina Jolie were among the actresses who met one of the biggest awards of the night. Moore brought home the best actress for her role in “Materials.”
“It's not that it's not happening because it's not happening. Just stick to it. Your dreams will come true,” Moore said during his acceptance speech. This marked the first critically selected award to win Moore's Best Actress Award.
