Happy Gilmore’s Christopher McDonald re-enacts hilarious Shooter McGavin scene at Phoenix Open

Scottsdale, Arizona – One of the most famous golf scenes received a classic re-enactment at the WM Phoenix Open on Saturday morning.

Actor Christopher McDonald, who not only performed at Pro Am on Wednesday at TPC Scottsdale, but also portrayed Happy Gilmore's shooting game McGovern, decided to have I'm having fun with my fans on Saturday mornings. While apart from the incoming crowd, Gilmore tried to wear a gold jacket, evoking one of the 1996 classic closure scenes. In the original film, Happy Gilmore won the tournament by stopping an outrageous shot at the end.

Social media had a field day with re-creation on Saturday.

But three days ago, on Wednesday, McDonald's was even more fun. He crashed Justin Thomas' press conference midway through and shared details of Happy Gilmore 2, which will be released by Netflix in the summer of 2025.

“I can't speak much because the rap is down, but it's going to be amazing. It's a lot of fun filming with a new face. Travis Kelse was there. But that's the case, though. He has the touch of Adam Sandler. He's back. Of course Julie Bowen is back. Truly, Chris McDonald and many new faces,” McDonald said Wednesday.

“But it has so much mind and humor, so it's rare and beautiful, and Netflix has surpassed it to make it the best, so I think a new generation will eat it. That would be very surprising and interesting.”

Later, at the press conference we presented a brief video about Happy Gilmore 2. Fans can watch it in full swing season 3. The third season is scheduled to hit Netflix on February 25th.
