Jets hire former Giants staffer Jon Berger for game management job

NEW ORLEANS – Jets coach Aaron Glen continues to build his staff and adds longtime Giants employees.

Sources say Glenn hired John Berger for his game management role.

It's unclear what the exact title for Berger is, but he will be the coach who enters Glenn about decisions such as a fourth down, challenge, and two-point conversion.

Dan Shamash took on the role under former coach Robert Saleh.

Burger worked in a variety of roles with the Giants from 1987 to 2021.

He began as an intern and in 1987 he became the team's computer coordinator.

As analysis grew in football, the role of Burger has evolved.

He eventually became the senior director of the football management team.

After leaving the Giants, Burger worked in the NFL.

He served as vice president of replays for the past two seasons.
