This year's NFL MVP Awards weren't a two-man race for this voter.
Jim Miller, former NFL QB and current co-host on SiriusXM NFL Radio's “Movin' The Chains,” has been playing neck-to-neck races with Josh Allen, behind the fourth vote It was left there. Bills quarterbacks, Saquon Barkley and Joe Barrow.
Miller, who played quarterback in the league for six seasons, confirmed Jackson's snub on his show on Friday.
He seems to have heard a lot from Ravens fans.
“A lot of people loved Lamar,” Miller said. “It's true I voted in a certain way. A lot of people didn't like it. And I had my five.”
Allen won the award, beating Jackson with a narrow 21-point margin, winning 27 votes for Jackson in the first MVP of his career.
Jackson was looking for a second straight and a third MVP.
Miller explained some of the reasons why he voted Berkley and Barrow before Jackson, and during the show the Eagles running back said “it means a lot to his team due to injuries.”
He placed Barrow third in his vote “due to the way he finished the season,” despite the Bengali missing out on the playoffs.
Of the 50 voters, Miller was the only person Jackson wasn't in his top two.
“I sleep very well on the way I voting,” he said. “A lot of people didn't like it because Lamar was quite a player,” he later added.
Allen's victory came as a shock to NFL fans after Jackson received 30 first-place votes for 18 people and Burrow received two other ones.
