San Francisco and Santa Clara counties in California, King county, Washington, Portland, Oregon, City of New Haven, Connecticut I sued The Trump administration over cracking down on the sanctuary.
CNN reported:
The lawsuit, filed Friday, quoted as “from a jurisdiction that refuses to use local resources to implement the immigration agenda,” which oversees federal funds that oversee President Donald Trump's executive order, The Justice Department memo on the 5th of the month, “Not only threatening, but also termination of funds, as well as civil and criminal prosecutions of jurisdiction that refuse to comply.”
The plaintiffs say their lawsuit aims to “check this abuse of power,” and they ask the court to declare the Trump administration's actions illegal and prevent enforcement.
“This is for the federal government to illegally assert its rights, communicate its resources to cities and direct local law enforcement,” San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu announced the lawsuit in a statement. I stated.
Chiu continued. “This is the federal government that forces local officials to bend their will or face refunds and prosecutions. It's illegal and authoritarian.”

“Despite the law, President Trump is once again asking for punishing those who don't agree with him, forcing local governments, and punishing them to carry out his agenda,” the lawsuit alleges.
“From our perspective, we believe that all sanctuary jurisdictions will be targeted,” Chiu said, adding that he believes more jurisdictions against the Trump administration will take part in the lawsuit. He insisted.
