New Orleans – Here's the beauty of having a full team: No player has to play every game.
That's how Jalen Hurts and the Eagles got off on a Sunday night.
He didn't get to the biggest start. When the opposite quarterback is Patrick Mahomes, that's a hassle.
It was clear that the chiefs were prepared to contain them from running through Saquon Berkley, and that their defensive attitude turned out to be conditional.
Barkley never broke freely in one of the familiar long bursts, and he finished for just 57 yards on a 25-yard rushing attempt and was restrained.
The Eagles knew that Berkley was the man marked and that another focus on the offense would be needed.
“Jalen came out and played big,” Berkley said.
“He had an incredible game, so we needed him,” coach Nick Silianni said.
When one door is closed, the best team opens another.
The team has evolved into the run-first operation needed to loosen things up in a passing game, and it has come to the challenge.
The 26-year-old played brilliantly in his first Super Bowl two years ago, but the Eagles were unable to hold a 10-point lead and lost to the 38-35 Chiefs in Glendale, Arizona .
Hearts this time should not be denied.
He was a much better quarterback and didn't have to face his own greedy defense – and the time of things with the dismantling of the 40-22 Chief of Super Bowl 2025 inside the Caesar Superdome I spent time.
It wasn't long ago that skeptics were wondering if they could bring their teams to the title.
“We don't have control over what these people think,” Hertz said.
The wounds benefited from the offensive line that kept him clean – what else is new? – He punched the clock by completing 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards, two touchdowns and one intercept.
He rushed the Eagles for 72 yards with 11 attempts and one touchdown, defeating his own NFL record to rush yards for quarterback in the Super Bowl.
His defense was overwhelming, but the most valuable player was the one who was named the most valuable player.
In that way, it hurts the vault to rare businesses.
He joined Joe Namas and Joe Montana as the third quarterback to win a championship in the college and NFL.
Namas, like Hearts, won the title in Alabama.
Montana won at Notre Dame.
Hurts has joined quite a group. He is the fourth quarterback in league history, losing his first Super Bowl and earning one as a starter, joining John Elway, Bob Griese and Len Dawson.
“Jaylen's special,” Syriani said. “Criticism only blows my mind.”
For the Eagles, they were a 7-0 lead for the Eagles when they made their only gaffe in the evening.
He was pressured by linebacker Nick Bolton to miss a throw he shouldn't make.
The wound threw double coverage in brown, and the safety Brian Cook left with a charge intercept.
This was his first interception in the playoffs this season, and his first interception from before the 217 straight passes a week before week 5.
So it wasn't going great because it hurts.
He is a rare competitor and he is unforgiving.
He threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Brown late in the second quarter to make it 24-0.
In the third quarter, he scrambled for 16 yards and found Berkley for 22 yards, leading to Jake Elliott's field goal.
In the fourth quarter, the Hurts were paying for a deep 46-yard shot that Devonta Smith ran for a touchdown.
“It just came,” Hertz said of the long distance passing. “We were able to do it. We were able to find ways to win in multiple ways.”

Hurts was 24 years old in his third NFL season and was standing toe-toe with Mahomes in the 2023 Super Bowl.
He completed 27 of 38 passes for 304 yards and accounted for four touchdowns. Three rushing and one pass. The Eagles were shortened in that game but not damaged.
He signed a five-year contract extension worth $255 million at the time, becoming the highest-paid player in the league based on the year's sal.
The Eagles gave him the first non-trade clause in the history of the franchise.
And now he is the Super Bowl champion.
