The Chiefs played with fire all year, until Eagles burned them

All year round, the chiefs just got it. One narrow victory after another. Through the regular season and playoffs.

On Sunday night, the magic was gone. On Sunday night, Patrick Mahomes and Co. were overwhelmed by a terrifying two weeks of opponent to prepare.

They were cut off. Out-class. We blitzed 40-22 in a game that wasn't too close at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The Eagles looked like a dynasty, not a chief. It was surprisingly not competitive, and it was almost difficult to believe that the back-to-back champions were so thoroughly crushed and made to appear not to belong to the biggest stage of the sport.

But if they really paid close attention to Kansas City this season, they wouldn't have dominated. Eleven of the 15 regular season victories were determined by a single score. The Chiefs were barely impressive in their two playoff wins, struggling to pass the Texans in the split round and won Bill in the AFC Championship Game. Their point difference of plus 59 ranked third in the AFC West behind the charger and the Broncos. Meanwhile, the Eagles outperformed the opposition with a whopping 160.
