NFL Confirms Palestinian Protester Was Halftime Show Dancer

The NFL revealed that the Palestinian protesters who produced the flags decorated with “Gaza” and “Sudan” at the Super Bowl halftime show were dancers hired to perform at the event .

During Kendrick Lamar's halftime performance, one of an estimated 400 dancers climbed onto the car with a flag that combines Sudan and Palestinian colors.

Security chases the dancer-turned-protetter from the car, and eventually he jumps into the field, where other security guards arrest him.

The NFL denies that they had any knowledge of the dancer's intentions.

“Individuals hid the items from their own people and announced them later in the show,” the league's statement read. “No one involved in the production recognized the personal intentions.”

Roc Nation, who produced the halftime show, denied the prediction of the protest, saying the protest was “not a rehearsal or part of the production plan.”

Fans learned to protest primarily through social media posts. The cameras didn't take up the event and didn't disrupt the halftime show.
