Disney dumps two DEI programs as investors pressure company

Disney is reportedly pulling back its diversity, equity and inclusive policy, the latest major company repeating initiatives that have been woken up amidst pressure from activist investors and the Trump administration.

The media giant – who saw the final outcome hurt by the fight over the “gay” bill in Florida – quietly dropped the “Reimagine Tomorrow” program from the DEI section. 2024 Sec 10-K Report, According to recent regulations

The program, mentioned in the 2023 report, has a mission statement that “abolizes underrated voices and features some of Disney's DE&I commitments and actions.” Website.

The initiative promised that 50% of the normal and repetitive characters across the Disney universe will come from “underrated groups.”

The program sparked anger in 2022 when a company-wide Zoom call was leaked on social media.

One Disney executive promoted a “totally secret gay agenda” at the company, while another discarded the words “women, gentlemen, boys, girls” at theme parks to avoid alienating transgender children I was bragging about it.

The program's website is still in operation, but Stefan Padfield, director of the National Center for Public Policy Studies' Free Enterprise Project; Talking to Fox News Digital On Monday, it showed that exclusions from SEC filing could indicate changes in the mouse house.

Disney did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Disney's DEI policy was a response to some of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' “gay” laws.

President Trump recently ordered an end to DEI for the federal government, including many private companies, and its contractors.

Meanwhile, businesses are also under pressure from conservative critics who say the DEI program is discriminatory for non-exile.

Companies like Meta and John Deere rolled back the DEI program, while others like Apple and Costco were pushed back. Google, GM, Intel, Pepsi, Comcast, Philip Morris and others have softened or removed the DEI language.

“Where is the data that shows Dei will provide the final result?” Padfield asked about companies that still employ DEI measures.

“Concerns about scrutiny about these questions are embedded in this move seen across companies. The Trump administration has announced that it will investigate nine companies for their DEI practices, and you will be able to see companies having 9 companies. I see them rushing to not be in the crowd,” he said.

The Battle of Dei is also being fought in court.
