For much of this season, the fleeting successes discovered by the nets came to an offensive end. However, their best form of season has been around for the past two weeks and is on the league's best defense.
97-89 won the lottery hopper Hornets on Monday night, with the net winning five out of six, suddenly withering defense.
The net held the Hornets at 89 points after choking Miami to 86 on Friday. It was Mark who held his first consecutive opponent with less than 90 points for over a decade (December 2014).
“Consistency, the work that our coaches have put together and finding our priorities,” Fernandez said before the game. “The three-point line is the problem and our pick-and-roll was very inconsistent, so we find the time and the way to get the job done, then we get the rep.
“We had a different lineup, but it's hard to find consistency if you don't play together due to long stretches. Now those guys did a great job. They played a bit together But now we can see some results. In honor of our accomplishments to coaches and players, we must continue to take positive steps.”
The net reached a bottom in the king's hand on January 27th with a defeat on January 27th, bringing the seven players to their worst winning streak of the season.
They began this diversion two nights later by snapping that skid with a 104-83 laugh at Charlotte.
Entering Monday, they led the entire league with many indicators. This includes defensive ratings (105.2), field goal percentage (40.7), field goals allowed (35.2), and blocks (8.2).
“It's our pressure, our strength, our physicality. We just buy what Jordi wants to do defensively, help each other, don't worry about our guys, we just buy into the game plan. Deiron Sharp has helped this run in the evening with a defensive rating of 94.2 over the past two weeks.
“Not only is our physicality, our focus is consistent. It brings positive things,” Fernandez said. “There's no perfect system. The only way is when everyone pushes in the same direction and everyone is trying to do the same thing.”
Before this, the success was: 1) Aggressive smoke and mirrors. 2) Soon through the vet for this roster. 3) Both.
This run is spurred by defense, a slightly different defence than Jack Vaughan and Kevin Ollie ran before the season.
“Our system can be adjusted like this because we need to continue developing in the armory and do more,” Fernandez said.
“We play hard while we're there, but we have to be able to do what we need to do while we play hard. They can't play hard and just do nothing,” Sharp said. “You need to control or control how you play hard. Focus on your game plan. [With the plan] They present us all the games, we feel we are going to win. ”
That game plan has not changed as much as in the past few years. Sharpe and Nic Claxton are aggressively hedging, but they know when they'll sink.
Both centers are much bigger, better communicators and quarterback defenses.
“Yordi is just challenging us to be defensive anchors,” Sharp said. “Me and Nick, we're taking that challenge… you can talk the whole game, touch the screen, you're sinking with a second effort. Just buy it and the team I'm trying to help you win.”
The net was doing a better job with shooters, leaking enemies to the bystanders.
“We've all started focusing on the little things on the defensive side. We're just hearing Jordi preaching in stages,” Tyres Martin told the Post. “When you're not protecting the ball, make sure you're in the right place in your stance, close out the right way and rebound better. It really takes our defense to another level. Ta.
“I just have Nick [Sharpe] On the back, it helped a lot. Trendon Watford added. “When Nick and Dalyon [talking]we have to be the loudest in the gym. …We feel we can pretty much defend many teams in the league. ”
